Impartiality Policy
  1. Purpose
This policy establishes the commitment of Scandinavian Halal certification AB to act impartially in all its certification activities, in accordance with the requirements of GSO 2055-2 and ISO/IEC 17021-1. Our aim is to ensure that all certification activities are conducted with integrity, free from any undue influence that could compromise impartiality.
  1. Commitment to Impartiality
Scandinavian Halal certification AB understands the importance of impartiality in carrying out its certification activities and manages conflict of interest to ensure objectivity. We are committed to identifying, analyzing, evaluating, treating, monitoring, and documenting all risks related to potential conflicts of interest arising from our certification processes.
  1. Governance Structure
To safeguard impartiality, Scandinavian Halal certification AB has established a structure that includes a committee for safeguarding impartiality which involves representation from a balance of interests such as clients, Islamic organizations and consumer representatives. This body reviews and advises on matters affecting impartiality in our certification processes.
  1. Risk Assessment and Management
All risks to impartiality are continuously assessed. Where risks are identified, appropriate actions are taken to eliminate or minimize them. These actions are reviewed by the committee to ensure effectiveness and adequacy.
  1. Conflict of Interest
Personnel involved in certification activities must disclose any relationship or situation that could lead to a conflict of interest. Certification will not be provided if a conflict of interest that cannot be mitigated is present. Specifically:
  • Scandinavian Halal certification AB does not offer consultancy services to clients seeking certification.
  • Auditors and decision-makers must not have been involved in any consultancy or internal auditing for a client within the last two years.
  • All personnel involved in certification must sign a declaration of impartiality and confidentiality.
  1. Independence from Commercial, Financial, and Other Pressures
Scandinavian Halal certification AB ensures that commercial, financial, or other pressures do not compromise the impartiality of our certification activities. We maintain independent operations, and decisions regarding certification are made solely based on objective evidence of compliance with relevant standards.

  2. Personnel Awareness and Training
All staff involved in certification are trained and regularly updated on the importance of impartiality, conflict of interest, and the requirements of GSO 2055-2 and ISO/IEC 17021-1.

  3. Continuous Improvement
The impartiality management system is reviewed annually through internal audits, management review, and feedback from the impartiality committee to continually improve its effectiveness.
